  • Increase integration of subject specialist librarians into academic departments and programs across campus in order to promote use of information, instructional, and scholarly support services by students, staff, and faculty.
  • Identify strategies for ascertaining emerging research and teaching emphases on the Urbana campus and use this information to establish collection development objectives.
  • Adopt best practices from the fields of evidence-based librarianship and user experience in the design and development of library services.
  • Adapt library spaces to better support transformative learning experiences.
  • Assure accessiblity of library resources, including faculty and staff expertise, in location-independent ways.

  • Establish a robust and sustainable program supporting access, dissemination, preservation, and curation of digital content created, managed, or acquired by the Library.

  • Model best practices in collection management through application of guidelines for long-term storage of print materials informed by participation in local, state, regional, and national programs.
  • Promote collaborative efforts toward accomplishing local, regional, and national goals for digital preservation programs.
